Colorado's Shedeur Sanders Threw the Silliest Interception of the College Football Season

All of the Details of the Play

In what might be the most absurd play of the 2022 college football season, Colorado Buffaloes quarterback Shedeur Sanders completed an interception that defied all logic.

On November 5 at Folsom Field in Boulder, Colorado, the Buffs were locked in a tight battle against the Arizona Wildcats. With under four minutes to play and Colorado trailing by 4 points, Sanders attempted to throw the football downfield.

The Wild Interception

The pass was intended for wide receiver Jordyn Tyson, but it was underthrown and behind him. Arizona safety Jaxen Turner jumped up and intercepted the pass, seemingly securing the victory for the Wildcats.

But then the unexpected and hilarious element of the play occurred. Somehow, the ball slipped out of Turner's hands and fluttered to the ground. Sanders, continuing his pursuit, alertly scooped up the loose ball and ran it back 30 yards.

The Game's Outcome

Sanders’ incredible effort put the Buffaloes in position to tie the game with a field goal. However, Colorado missed the field goal and ultimately lost 38-34.

Despite the disappointing outcome, the play will likely be remembered as one of the wildest and strangest moments of the college football season.
