Volkswagen announces pricing for athletic ID. Buzz GTX and new 7-seat version

German carmaker Volkswagen has revealed UK pricing and specifications for the sporty ID.Buzz GTX and the new seven-seat model

Volkswagen is extending its electric ID. Buzz line-up with the addition of a sportier GTX model and a more practical seven-seat variant.

Prices for the ID. Buzz GTX start from £57,115 after the government’s plug-in car grant has been applied, while the seven-seat ID.Buzz Life is priced from £50,740 – a premium of around £2,200 over the five-seat model.

The ID.Buzz GTX sits at the top of the range and comes with a more powerful electric motor producing 299bhp, along with a bigger 77kWh battery. This gives it a range of up to 298 miles on a single charge.

Volkswagen claims the ID.Buzz GTX will accelerate from 0-62mph in 6.9 seconds, which is significantly quicker than the standard model’s 10.2-second time.

The ID.Buzz GTX also gets a sportier exterior design, with unique bumpers, side skirts and wheels, as well as a black roof and door mirrors.

Inside, the ID.Buzz GTX features sports seats, a leather-trimmed steering wheel and pedals, and a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system.

The seven-seat ID.Buzz Life, meanwhile, offers more practicality for families with its additional row of seats. The third row of seats can be folded down to create more boot space, or removed completely.

All ID.Buzz models come with a comprehensive range of safety features, including lane-keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, and autonomous emergency braking.

Volkswagen is also offering a range of optional extras for the ID.Buzz, including a panoramic sunroof, heated seats, and a rear-seat entertainment system.
