June 9, 2023

The Los Angeles Kings have named Mike Buckley as their new NHL goaltending coach, the team announced on Friday. Buckley will join head coach Todd McLellan's staff, which also includes assistant coaches Trent Yawney, Jim Hiller, and Todd Andrew.

Buckley has a wealth of experience in hockey, having previously served as a goaltending coach for the San Jose Sharks and the Vancouver Canucks. He has also worked as a goaltending consultant with Hockey Canada.

McLellan, who is entering his fourth season as head coach of the Kings, said that he is excited to add Buckley to his staff.

"Mike is a highly respected goaltending coach with a proven track record of success," McLellan said. "He has a great understanding of the game and is able to connect with goaltenders on a personal level. I am confident that he will be a valuable asset to our team."

Buckley said that he is looking forward to working with McLellan and the Kings.

"I am thrilled to be joining the Los Angeles Kings," Buckley said. "This is a first-class organization with a great group of players and coaches. I am excited to work with Todd and the rest of the staff to help the Kings achieve their goals."
